How do I publish an early access episode?
Publish an early access episode for subscribers by enabling subscriptions and setting both the early access date and general release date.
If you are on the Pro or Enterprise plan, you can launch a paid subscription for your podcast and offer early access and other benefits to paid subscribers.
How do early access episodes work?
Early access episodes are available to paid subscribers on Fountain before the general release date. Non-subscribers on Fountain can also unlock the episode early with a one-time payment.
When you publish an early access episode, you can set both an Early access date and a General release date.
On the Early access date, the episode is only available in Fountain and is only playable for paid subscribers and listeners who have purchased that episode.
On the General release date, the episode becomes available and playable by everyone in all podcast apps.
Set up your subscription
Go to Settings > Subscription, enable subscriptions, and complete the required fields:
- Subscription title
- Offer message
- Monthly subscription price
- Subscriber benefits
- Thank you message
When you save your changes, the subscription will be available on your show page.
Publish an early access episode
To publish an early access episode:
- Under Episode type, choose Regular episode
- Upload your Episode audio or video
- Under Scheduling, choose Early access
- Set your Early access date (leave Schedule release date unchecked to publish now)
- Set your General release date
- Set your Purchase price for non-subscribers
