Do listeners need a Fountain account?
To follow you, reply or pay you with Lightning, yes. Anyone can still subscribe to your feed in any podcast app, but they arrive as a download, not as a person.
Can I see listeners in other apps?
Only in apps built on the same open protocols. Someone listening in Apple Podcasts or Spotify shows up as a download, not a person.
Where do I see my supporters?
In the dashboard, under Monetization, with what each one sent and when.
Can listeners reply to a specific episode?
Yes. Replies sit on the episode, and a listener can send a zap along with what they say.
Can listeners make clips of my episodes?
Yes. Listeners make clips and highlights from what they hear and share them. It is one of the main ways a show gets found.
What is Nostr?
An open protocol for social apps. Your profile and followers belong to you, not to Fountain, and work in any Nostr app. Create a profile on Fountain or bring one you already have.
Do I lose my audience if I leave Fountain?
No. Your followers live on the protocol, not in our database, so they go with you to any app that reads it.
