Why should I listen on Fountain?

How do I create a Fountain account?
Download Fountain on iOS or Android and sign up with your email address. A wallet is created for you, ready to top up when you want to support a show.
Can I import my podcasts from other apps?
Yes. From your library, import your podcasts from Apple, Spotify or any other app via OPML. Importing music from other apps is not possible yet.
How do I support podcasts and music?
From the player, pay per minute as you listen, or send a payment with a comment, called a zap. A growing number of shows and artists also offer paid subscriptions with extra benefits.
How do I top up my Fountain wallet?
From your wallet, generate a Lightning invoice to pay from another wallet, or connect Strike to deposit from any bank account. You can also connect an external wallet with Nostr Wallet Connect.
What fees apply to payments?
Fountain adds a 4% fee on top of each streaming payment and zap, so the show receives the full amount. Fountain Premium lowers it to 1%.
What is included in Fountain Premium?
For $2.99 a month: fees lowered to 1%, unlimited episode summaries, transcripts and playlists, and a growing list of ways to customize your experience.
What is Nostr and how do I connect it?
Nostr is an open protocol for social apps. You have one profile and one set of followers that work in any Nostr app. Create a new profile on Fountain, or import one you already have.
How do I discover new shows and artists?
Connect Nostr and follow people. A good place to start is the listeners around the shows and artists you like. Their zaps, comments, clips and highlights then appear in your feed.
