This Privacy Policy explains how Fountain Labs Ltd (“Fountain”, “we”, “us”, “our”) collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you use the Fountain website, apps, API and related services (the “Services”).

Fountain Labs Ltd is a company registered in England and Wales. We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy.

1. Information We Collect

Information you give us

  • Account details: your email address, handle and profile information.
  • Content: episodes, tracks, artwork, metadata, show notes, transcripts, clips, social posts and comments you create or upload.
  • Payment details: payout addresses, Lightning addresses and payment splits. Stripe handles card details, and they never reach our servers.
  • Credentials you add: for example, an App Store Connect API key used to publish video to Apple Podcasts.
  • Messages: anything you send us through support or our newsletter sign-up.

Information from connected accounts

When you connect an account on another platform, that platform sends us information. Section 3 explains this in detail.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use personal information to:

  • Create and secure your account and sign you in
  • Publish to the platforms you connect, when you or an app you authorise ask us to

Under UK and EU data protection law, we rely on these legal bases: performing our contract with you, our legitimate interests in running and improving the Services, your consent where we ask for it, and our legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information.

3. Connected Accounts

You can connect accounts on other platforms so Fountain can act on your behalf. You choose which accounts to connect. We request only the permissions our features need.

YouTube, X and Instagram

When you connect a social channel, the platform gives us an access token and basic account details, such as your account name, handle and profile image. We use the connection to publish video clips to your account and measure how those posts perform, such as views, likes and comment counts.

YouTube. Fountain uses YouTube API Services. By connecting YouTube, you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. The Google Privacy Policy covers how Google uses your information. You can revoke Fountain’s access at any time in your Google security settings.

Google user data. Fountain’s use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use Google user data for advertising or to train AI models.

X. You can revoke access in your X settings under Connected apps. The X Privacy Policy covers your use of X.

Instagram. You can revoke access in your Instagram or Meta account settings. The Meta Privacy Policy covers your use of Instagram.

Apple Podcasts

If you add an App Store Connect API key, we store it securely and use it only to publish video to Apple Podcasts for you. You can remove the key at any time in your show settings.

Disconnecting an account

Revoking access on the other platform stops Fountain acting on that account. Email hello@fountain.fm and we will delete the account details we hold for that connection. Posts already published stay on the platform until you delete them there.

4. Apps and AI Agents You Authorise

You can give third-party apps and AI agents, such as Claude or ChatGPT, access to your Fountain account. They connect through Fountain sign-in (OAuth), our MCP server or an API key.

  • Before an app connects through Fountain sign-in, we show you the app’s name and the access it will get.
  • An authorised app can read and manage your shows, episodes, transcripts, analytics and social posts across your account.
  • The app’s provider handles the information the app retrieves under its own privacy policy. For example, see the Anthropic Privacy Policy and the OpenAI Privacy Policy.
  • You can end an app’s access in the app itself, by deleting its API key, or by emailing hello@fountain.fm.

5. International Transfers

Our service providers may process information outside the UK and the European Economic Area, including in the United States. For those transfers we rely on adequacy decisions, the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

6. Retention

We keep personal information while your account is active and for as long as we need it to provide the Services. When you delete your account or ask us to delete data, we delete or anonymise that data within a reasonable time. The law requires us to keep some records for longer, such as payment and tax records.

Content already distributed through RSS, Nostr or other public networks may remain available outside Fountain.

7. Security

We protect personal information with reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including encryption in transit and restricted access to tokens and credentials. No system is completely secure, so keep your account, private keys and API keys safe.

8. Cookies and Browser Storage

We use browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your preferences and cache data. Google Analytics measures visits on some marketing pages. Cloudflare Turnstile protects some forms from bots. You can clear or block browser storage in your browser settings, but some features may stop working.

9. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete your information
  • Object to or restrict some processing
  • Receive your information in a portable format
  • Withdraw your consent, where we rely on consent

To use these rights, email hello@fountain.fm. We may need to verify your identity first.

In the UK, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. In the EU, you can complain to your local data protection authority.

10. Children

Fountain is not for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the Services change. We will update the date at the top of this page and tell you about significant changes.
